Blocks of non-Latin script usernames[ソースを編集]

Hi again Bakaba,

Community non-official CVT volunteer DarkMatterMan4500 was wondering about your mass blocking of a bunch of (presumably similar) non-Latin script, non-English usernames on this wiki. I advised them that local blocks are with each wiki's purview to undertake, provided they're done in accordance with the wiki's community consensus-established rules and/or common sense and our global policies, of course. The thing I'm wondering, though, is what these usernames translate as, and do you have reason to suspect two or more usernames are related to a single user in contravention of user accounts policy? If so, can you let me know what the usernames translate as and point me to some behavioural evidence (deleted or live) that indicates crosswiki or long-term abuse? If there's sufficient evidence that justifies it, I can aid your wiki in performing a further technical investigation to see if additional preventative measures can be put into place.

Separately, DarkMatterMan4500 wanted to ask you something similar about this, but was prevented from creating pages as he is not autoconfirmed. Entirely up to you, but if you wish to grant him confirmed privileges on this wiki, temporarily until he is autoconfirmed, I can say that he does do useful, constructive counter-vandalism work.

Hi, the account was related to attacking a certain admin, みどり, one of our admins for their past uploads. The thing is that the similarity is hard to detect by auto-translations because the attacker takes advantages of Hiragana, Japanese characters, in a way that is still understandable for Japanese natives but not for machine translations. One of such names makes us imagine "voyeurism," which of course is not true.
As far as I know, the attacker is a single-wiki LTA attacking us before our migration, but not a cross-wiki issue. We might ask for help to CVT if they get out of our control, but so far the situation is under our local control. by Bakaba talk/contribs 2021年1月19日 (火) 01:45 (JST)

Thanks for your notification. We might consider requesting it if
  • the LTA goes cross-wiki, or
  • they create an account with an obvious violation of m:Username Policy (without any given context on our wiki; so far, their usernames are offensive here on chakuwiki, but not necessarily without any information on other wikis).

  • 開拓者さんとBakabaさんはどちらも涼宮ハルヒシリーズの大ファンらしいですが、これは偶然ですか。僕にはそうは思えません。

連絡の問題上情報共有していたCVTに思わぬ形で明かされてしまった以上、仕方がありませんね（公共の場に出すことは望まないとも伝えたのだけど…）。
  • Bakaba=開拓者説は事実です。Mirahezeではコミュニティごとにアカウントを使い分けることは、グローバルポリシーに照らして何の問題もありません。中の人が同じであっても、活動領域が異なるBakabaアカウントと開拓者アカウントには、同一人物であることを認める義務もなく、活動領域が異なる以上互いの関係を明かさず別人のふりをしても、何ら方針に照らした問題は発生し得なかったのです。
  • 同一人物と知れた以上は今後は「倫理的な」問題は発生するかもしれません。そのあたりはこの先注意すればよく、遡及適用をすることには意味はありません。
  • Twitterについては、「よそはよそ」ですので、問題があるならそちらで直接お話ししましょう。

I've been noticing some what you may have suspected to be suspected LTA accounts still coming to vandalize, and one of them possibly questioned your integrity. Well, you did clarify that you were once The Pioneer on Miraheze and an ex-steward, so I think it's about time to raise the output and give them the notice, so they can investigate them and possibly lock them up.
